Workshop SF 2012
It's time for the next Massive Black Workshop in San Francisco! Massive Black, The Safehouse Atelier, Steambot Studios, SixMoreVodka, and a number of other notable Entertainment Art Industry professionals will be instructing at the workshop in San Francisco August 9th through August 12th. This event is sponsored by my alma mater, The Academy of Art University, and will be taking place downtown at the AAU Powell Street building, the same building I spent my years studying illustration. I highly recommend these types of workshops to anyone serious about working as an artist in the entertainment industry. Not only will you get a chance to listen to talks and watch demos by a large number of industry professionals, but the attendees are often working professionals and art directors as well. As an added plus, there is always the one on one portfolio reviews at the end of the event. This is more than just a great networking opportunity - you will be surrounded by people with similar mindsets and passions, a situation that is very rare and very inspiring.
If you act fast, there is an Early Bird Special running on the tickets, but it ends June 30th!
Hope to see some of you there!

Zombie Playground on Kickstarter!
Zombie Playground has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the project. The campaign will run from May 22nd until June 26th, 6:00pm EDT. This funding campaign will ultimately determine the fate of Zombie Playground, so we humbly ask for your support.
For those of you not familiar with Kickstarter, it is a crowd funding website designed to give consumers the opportunity to fund projects that they want, instead of waiting and hoping that large companies do the same. So many great ideas are squashed because financial investers don’t believe that they will sell to the masses, so Kickstarter gives up and coming groups the chance to prove them wrong. Funding for large projects requires large sums of money. Large sums of money usually comes with a lot of strings attached, which makes it difficult for small teams to stay true to their initial ideas. However, if we are able to fund Zombie Playground from contributions from fans, we won’t have the normal strings attached that usually comes from working with big name publishers. WorkshopSF
Hey guys, it's workshop time!
Massive Black, SixMoreVodka, Safehouse Atelier, and SteamBot Studios along with a bunch of other artists are having an art workshop in San Francisco in November. The workshop is geared at both beginner and professional artists in the entertainment, film, game, comics, illustration, and fine art industries.
Some of the projects that these individuals have worked on off of the top of my head include X-Men, Tron, Assassin's Creed, Skyrim, Guild Wars 1 & 2, Magic the Gathering, Transformers 1 2 3, Left 4 Dead 2, DOTA 2, Red Dead Redemption, StarCraft 2, Diablo 3, and much more.
I will be doing live demos, lecturing, and doing portfolio reviews at the workshop. Availability is limited, and there is also an Early Bird Special, so if you are interested, you should grab a ticket while they are still available - November is just around the corner. Hopefully I will see some of you guys there!

Coke Super Bowl Commercial
Here is an update on some of the entertainment art I did a while back for Coke's Super Bowl commercial featuring orcs and dragons. I did some key art showing the horde of orcs and their dragon, but I didn't design the "good guy" creatures. This was a pretty fun project :)
You can check out the commercial HERE
